I’ve always loved getting the call to sit in with other bands.
There’s something about the challenge of charting a set I don’t normally play—stepping into different genres, stretching a little, and figuring it out on the fly.
This month is shaping up to be a fun one.
I’ll be heading down to Alabama for a few dates playing country with the Hall Brothers Band, then jumping into something completely different the following week—sitting in with The Ben Swangin Big Band. I’ll be the only player not sight-reading, so I’ve got some serious homework ahead of me. But I love swing and jazz, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
I’ve also been asked to play keys for Jordan Allen for a show in London. Jordan is an incredibly talented guy with a killer voice, and I’m excited to be part of that set.
On top of that, I’ve got another one-off with the Hall Brothers Band, and my band Anderson Road will be playing Hillbilly Days in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Here’s where you can catch me:
April 9–11 — Dothan, AL
April 16 — Pikeville, KY
April 17 — Pikeville, KY (Anderson Road)
April 18 — London, KY
May 19–20 — Chicago, IL
If you’re nearby, come out and say hello.
